180b distributor can be made to fit, you just need to change the cog from the bottom of the fj dizzy onto the 180b (or any L seies 4 I guess, probably a bluebird series 2 electric one would be your best bet

Any A12, A14 distributor will work as well.....tho on that subject, I am having trouble getting mine to engage the whole way. The timing plate sits off the block about 6mm, and no matter what orientation I spin the gear on the diz, I cant get it to go in the whole way. Is this common? More force? Try advancing the motor a tooth or two?

Hi i run a late mini one but with lumnition fited you just change the cog on the bottom. It also means i can run the dissy cap with the leads that come out the side away from the carbs

The A series diz is one of the mini ones too...I have a diz cap with the plugs on the side, but it's too big for these small units, looks like it is for the stock diz. What model did you get the cap off of?

As for the engagemnt problem, the the drive gear I have looks like the one on the stock diz (which also will not engage).

So they should just slip in with no effort?
