Acquired a bluebird with an FJ20. Has been converted to twin 40mm Dell'ortos with a modified L18 Hitachi Dizzy. My Question is, to get away from points, I have bought an l20b electronic dizzy from a bluebird S2. Can this be modified to fit the FJ as well? Would prefer electronic to points

Cheers,
Adz

The old fix for an FJ20 was to get a Nissan A series dizzy and swap over the FJ's drive gear . I can't remember if there was any machining involved but its pretty straightforward . The go then was to convert the A series dizzy to electronic with a Lumenition kit .

Sorry to be negative but . The series 2 Bbd Bosch electronic dizzy is a PITA reluctor triggered device . The generator coils are unreliable at times and fiddly to change . Also I'd reckon the advance curve would be all wrong for an FJ20 .

Its a pitty that Haltech no longer market their ignition only IG4 and IG5 computers because they could run off the FJ's CAS possibly with a different optical disc .

put in a n12 pulsar dizzy and change the drive gear, you wouldnt be able to get an easier swap
