im fairly new to turbo cars and engines i want to know if i have to get a external waste gate to fit a fj20et or can i use any type of external waste gates?

you need a custom turbo manifold to run a external gate. i recomend a teil 44 mm there about the $600 from gcg turbos. they are made in the states and used by alot of quick street and race cars

you can use a standard or after market turbo manifold with many turbo combinations that only require (standard) internal wastegates.
