So i just started up my imported FJ for the first time and its running way too rich. (It ran for 5 mins with the fuel pump turned off, and was pooring out black smoke, i'm surprised it even started).
I suspect that someone may have put bigger injectors in it, and now i'm trying to run them with the factory computer... (It cam with a td06 and RB gearbox, so it has been played with)
Also does anyone know if the factory injector resistors are the same between N/A and turbo - i'm using an N/A one so maybe that has something to do with it?
Or has anyone else had this problem, or got any other ideas?

From memory all R30 injector dropping resistors are the same , for 4 and 6 cylinders . The fours only connect 4 wires at the plug .
How the system works is battery current runs in one large wire (red I think ?) and is ganged into one side of the 6 resistors . On the downstream side 4 wires run to the injectors and beyond those the individual injectors are earth switched by the injector drivers in the computer (ECU) .
Off the top of my head FJ20's used 2.4 Ohm injectors so high current peak and hold type electrical system for injectors . I have a set of turbo ones kicking around somewhere and if I can find them I'll post their numbers .
Cheers A .
