It came with a Plazmaman top mount T3 flanged turbo manifold - and the turbo is what looks to be a T3 Nissan turbo from a VL commodore.
So my question has numerous parts.
1) What's the max boost and power that you reckon I could get from the VL Turbo ? It has steel wheels.
2) If I went with another turbo - cost is a bit of a factor - so I was looking on the ATP website at the Plain Bearing Garrett T series - say a TO4e. How would that go against the one I have ??
3) Is it really worth the extra $$ (would be like double) to get a GT3071R ??
Considering I have the dump pipe already fabricated for the 5 bolt rear - the wastgate bit is covered over welded) and I am using a 60mm (yes, that's what it came with) Wastegate.
The VL turbo is a bit (not much) laggy - and I'd like to increase power and decrease lag.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Cheers,

I second that notion. The twin scroll GT3071r on my FJ now, makes the same power at 12 psi that my old T04e made at 19psi. It's a no brainer mate. Invest the extra money, you wont regret it.
