Ok so I finally get the new clutch back and balanced up etc, put the motor back in and get everything wired up and start the car, sweet she's running fine even tho the motor has been on a stand in the shed for six months, we bleed the cooling system and get everything set for a test drive, first drive she blows a cooler pipe at the first hint of boost, ok fixed that but she blows another cooler hose on the 2nd run, no worries fixed that, 3rd run she spools up no worries goes hard for about 10 seconds and then starts jumping around a bit and missing etc. Back in the carport with wot looks like smoke pouring out of the exhaust and I'm thinking turbo but the smoke turns out to be steam.....WTF?? Start pulling plugs and when I get to cylinder number 4 it's full of water agggghhhhhh faaark it. What I want to know is what might have caused this and what sort of damage can I expect. Is this likely to be a head gasket failure cos apparently the block is O-ringed and it's only running about 14psi and it's supposed to be a "built" motor. Man I'm so pissed off I'm seriously thinking of goind EVO now

Siezed thermostat? What was your temp doing before it blew the hoses?

Are you sure it was only 14psi?
Sounds like the boost was skyhigh for some reason popping the cooler hoses off,and persisting has popped the head gasket.

Car was struggling to make much boost, hoses were popping because if badly fitted or not tightened clamps, as for thermostat it had opened when we primed the system etc and there where no signs of a high temp issue when she shat, I guess I'll have to wait and see what the mechanic has to say I guess, here's hoping only the head gasket has let go hey.
