Hey guys,
My alternator **** itself last weekend, so I'm considering my options at the moment.
It's currently running the standard internally regulated fj20 60A alternator.
My options are;
- Get it rebuilt
- Fit another alternator
- Fit another higher new amp'ed alternator off another car.
I'm interested to hear from anyone that has fitted a 80A or 100A alternator off another model car without to much effort?
I did a search on here and found people have used L series bosch ones and some RB30e alternators. I understand they are a cheap alternator, but I think I'd rather do an upgrade and would like to buy some new or close to (low km import).
Does anyone have any idea on a good bang for buck upgrade would be? and where I can source one?
cheers
Martin

nissan pulsar GA15de alternator is easy to adapt. You just need to swap pulley's over. I think it is 80amp |

Thanks for the replies guys, are the ga15de's readily available in australia?
I know the ga16de's came in pulsars from memory, so i'd hazard a guess and say they'd be the same.
