Hi Guys,
My idle is inconsistant and high (2000rpm cold and from 1300-1500rpm when warm).
So I've done the search of the forums, only found the obvious vacuum leak solutions. Is there any other possible cause? This has happened before, but went away without doing anything (that was pretty cool). I can't hear nor see/feel any vacuum leaks in the obvious spots. Car holds boost fine, and still goes plenty hard and smooth when driving, just the idle is ****ty and backfires a lot on decel...
Any clues? Neighbours' probably gonna crack the ****s, car is loud enough in the morning without the extra high idle - meh.
car has aftermarket computer, otherwise pretty stock RS-Turbo.
Still not ruling out that there is a leak somewhere, is there any good way of checking?
Cheers,
Sam

My FJ runs an aftermarket computer and i dont have an idle stepper motor working correctly. Basically i control the idle when its cold sitting in the car and it idles fine when its hot. Are you running a stepper type valve?

If you are I have found the one i previously used to occasionally stick. Give it a tap on the head and see if it changes. If not. Perhaps the idle screw is vibrating around however i would find that unlikely.
