As per the title guys, need to get upgraded injectors for my fj20.

Need them really quickly to so if anyone can recommend a place where I can get some that would be great.

Need them around monday/tuesday next week.

Trying to jog my memory, but I believe they are Hose tail type injectors that come standard correct?

Any help on where to find some would be much appreciated, want to stay away from mazda rx7 injectors if I can.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've got some calls to make.

Taking a quick look at the injectors online site, I couldn't see a hose tail injector on there (I have a feeling they don't exist).

With the merc injectors, yeah I have heard of that, unfortunately due to the age of the mercs they came out, they will probably prove difficult to find without a part number or model number.

Here is a pic for reference that I found on the web of what I'm talking about, looks i'm just going to buy a set and get them machined;

AFI definately do them, i had 550cc hose tail on mine previously, got them from afi.
Or just upgrade to oring type and get a custom fuel rail.

Tried to give them a call before, guess they mustn't be open on a saturday.

Will try again monday, thanks for the heaps up.

A mate also recommended this place in the states ->http://www.rceng.com/

They have replied to my email and said they can supply a hose tail injector, so waiting to hear prices and sizes etc.

Will update the thread for ppl to use as a reference.

I can upgrade the fuel rail, but at the moment I'm trying to get the car ready for the datsun nationals (not looking good so far).

Can anyone confirm if a microtech MT-8 will take high and low impedance injectors? I'm 90% sure it should as they obviously will need to support different cars / injector types.

Just spoke with AFI, they don't have a hose tail injector any bigger than a VL turbo which I believe are 260cc.

Their closet O-ring style injector to suit my needs was a 610cc O-ring style.

Trade price - $88 + GST
Retail price - $125.40 + GST

Might need to weigh up my options;

1. Get a set of O-ring injectors and machine them hose tails on a lathe

2. Get a set of Hose-tails from the US (or aus distributor)

3. Get a modded fuel rail and fit the O-ring injectors.

oh sorry about that, i got mine from there but was a few years ago.

You will need to use same impedence injectors or send ecu back to jon
at microtec to change injector driver config.

youve got plenty of time before datnats, big injectors and custom rail!! haha

http://www.precisionturbo.net/fuelsystems.php

I have used #043-0540 from these guys with a Fantasy Performance fuel rail (suit Sport compact o-ring type injectors).

I have also used the rx7 o-ring injectors with efi hose and hose clamps done up tight (after removing the oring) and never had a problem. The oring groove is enough to keep the hose on so-long as the hose is a good snug fit and the clamps are done up tight.

I'd recommend both depending on what ecu you have, what your budget is, and whether you will be upgrading in the near future...

Nick.

Thanks for the info and options.

I've decided to go with the RC engineering 750cc hose tails. I'm going to get them shipped over from the states.

Spoke with my tuner and his advice was to go for the bigger ones as with the new fuels coming out 700 and above will be needed to get max performance.

Also to go for a conical spray injectors if at all possible, emailed RC again, waiting on their response.

At $100 USD for that size and it's plug n play, I can't go wrong.

Got that part number;

PL4-750
HOSE-END STYLE FOR NISSAN FJ20

You have to specify they are for a fj20 with the description above so they will custom make the hose-tail end (or machine, whatever they do).

Or, just buy the part number above and get them machined locally.

Also obviously make sure your ecu supports low impedance injectors.

cheers

Just updating this thread. Finally got the injectors tested on a bench, they produce a really good mist.

They have 3 circular outlets at the bottom of the injector which creates a really good mist.

They have also been installed (stock fuel etc) and work a treat.

Car made 190rwkw on 13psi. Limitation was the actuator on the turbo couldn't hold boost (stock turbo with adjusted internals)... Not alot, but good enough for the setup and PSI, plenty more in it with stable boost and better turbo.
