Hi,
Sorry but I could not resist asking this question, and also sorry if my English is not perfect.
I am a regular visitor to this forum, to learn as much as possible about the FJ20, as I am rebuilding an FJ20E engine that I imported from central Europe, and is completely unknown here, in Portugal, so I am not able to find any local help.
I spent several hours reading memberīs rebuilds and trying to follow their experience, but also found that when somebody asks for some information, either stay forever with no reply, or somebody spent time just to reply "do your homework"!!
I am 59 years old, and all my life I had classic cars and competed, as so I regularly follow the websites related to my cars, but I am sad to say that this is the most difficult one to obtain that information you desperatly need!
Example: in almost every rebuild is mentioned the wise use of ARP rod bolts, but after spending several hours searching for its part number, and even when somebody asks its number, nobody ever replied, and I am absolutely sure that you know the answer.
I contacted the ARP customer service, and they replied that there is no part number for this engine... but everybody here claims to use it!
After 3 weeks nobody replied!!
The FJ20 is a fantastic piece of art, please try harder to help other members that are too far away but also trying to bring back to life one more engine.
By the way, the only person that replied (not via this website) is Jamie from Rocket Industries and the correct information is AR202-6005. I hope this may help other members.
Regards,
Rui

i had the same problem, you will find that the factory rod bolts are more than adequate,we used factory rods with factory rod bolts for 3 seasons drag racing without any failure, the engine was making about 500hp on 28psi boost reving to 7500rpm,the car was also street driven alot,we just ordered brand new factory rod bolts straight from japan.this season we have gone for after market rods but i would stand by standard stuff any day,it all comes down to balancing and assembly,i spent about 40hrs balancing the bottom end of our fj and i knife edged the hell out of the crank which everyone says ya damed if ya do and ya damed if ya dont,so i did and it never cracked of failed.
