Response to Can you teach a goalie to jump?

Lawrence also swears by plyometrics and I have done for many years now at pro clubs in England and here in the states. Girls for some reason cannot jump high enough, and even though there are many good girl keepers out there, they are mainly good at shot stopping, and height really does have to be worked on. Every session of mine starts with Coerver and Plyometric skills. Work on leg strength first, lots of stretching throughout the session, squat work with weights, trampoline work etc. Check out Umbro Conditioning for Football, it should be available at Amazon. It has some basic but good plyometric excercises in there. Good luck.
