Response to Futsal is the future

Take a regulation field, turn in into 3 or 4 futsal size fields, give the kids many more touches and lots of fun.

4 fields with 10 kids playing at once x 4 fields is 40 kids versus 22 with 11 v 11. I would suggest this for all U12 or younger teams. Take away the refs, scores, rankings, and just let the kids play, have fun, and learn. The 2 coaches could take opposite sides of field as refs to control play and could offer instructions while playing. Maybe one half with instructions and one half no comments allowed from fans, parents, coaches, or anyone except players.

You have offered the kids many more touches in smaller spaces so they can become creative, learn to control the ball, think faster and more often, and have loads of fun. At the same time you have reduced the field requirement by almost 1/2 and no longer have a shortage of refs or unqualified refs.

Small game soccer is the future for outdoor U12 and younger. It is coming in this country fast.
