There are a few big tournaments that last 4 to 6 days and often have only one game a day. These tournaments leave ample time for the pool, beach, mall, chill'n, and everything else in your note. Those trips are lots of fun, and more often than not, a later kick off even means the kids don't have to be in bed too early.
I would recomend Florida for a trip like this, in the summer, or even in the dead of winter. The Tampa Sun bowl was Great, and one day of the tournament only had one game, plus our team got there a day early so there was plenty of time to relax and enjoy the xmas holiday.
