A few towns in our area have successful travel
soccer programs at U12 and U14 without forming
travel teams at U10. Instead they have U10's play
small-sided 5v5 or 6v6 in-town instead of U10 travel
format: 7v7. While I agree with having all U10's play
in-town, others in my town disagree.
They feel that playing U10 travel gets the players prepared just fine for U12 large-sided travel.
The dissenters want data or some kind of authoritative
reseach that shows that high-pressure travel soccer
at U10 limits a player's soccer development. This
is not club soccer, just select teams from each town
traveling to play each other.
