Having being a goalkeeper for many years, I now try and use my playing experience to help me with my coaching. All football teams need two good goal keepers. To keep them happy you must encourage them to work hard in training together and to try and rotate them in games. I don't agree with changing during games and I am sure if you were to consult your keepers they would rather play one full game and rest the next to avoid that situation. If you are involved with young players then this will work. My experience tells me that the older the players get the more they want to make the position there own.I also know that if a goalkeeper is not dedicated to the position of goalkeeper then he will never become a professional goalkeeper in the english game. You need to know what your players ambitions are and base your decisions on this.
