Response to tryout drills? U14

The best tryouts I've seen or been involved with over the last several years involve watching the kids play, period.

Here is a prospective tryout scheme:

Warm up activity (5v2 keepaway with strenching - 15 minutes)
1v1 to small goals - 15-20 minutes (10 by 20 yard field)
4v4 (with keepers) to large goals 20-30 minutes (30 by 35 yard field)
11v11 (or max numbers) on as close to full sided as possible - 30-45 minutes
cool down activity

In an ideal world, you get two 90-120 minute sessions. If I had one session, I would eliminate the 1v1's and add time to the 4v4's/full games. The 1v1's aren't terribly popular for high level tryouts, but I think they isolate technical competence and competitve character very well.
