I don't think there is an ideal height,weight,muscle bulk etc.
Obviously a player cannot be over weight,but so many factors come into the equation ie,defenders tend to be bigger taller stronger than say a wing player,a midfield player does'nt necessarily have to be tall or well built, but needs a good engine(stamina), for the amount of running he needs to do.
I,m sure people will disagree but from my experience some football acadamies chose mainly tall players, whereas, some aren't particularly bothered about height but go for the skill and speed factor in smaller players.I know its not a definative answer but I don't think there is one .
