Today is Neil Sedaka's 63rd ... happy birthday to my "other" teen idol!
What's everyone's favorite Neil Sedaka songs? I have so many I'd probably fry Network 54 if I tried to list them all. I got an excellent CD a few years ago called Tuneweaver (early 1990's) which featured remakes of Neil's 1959-1963 hits as well as some new material; my two favorites being a lovely duet with daughter Dara on "Laughter in the Rain," and a HOT song called "You Turn Me On." Groovy!

Happy Birthday, Sweet 16....He has had so many hits, when you look back at his discography you remember and think oh yah.. Looks a lot like Perry Como in his younger year, but still looks great today. He plays at least twice a year here in Toronto, at Casino Rama. Laura, Bette, and anyone else who enjoys his music..open invitation for a place to stay if you are ever in this neck of the woods.

Have you ever seen Neil perform "Bad Blood" live? When his female backup singer Jacie Berry was still with him, they had this thing where when Neil reached the "do ron do ron" part, he'd walk over to her, they'd put their arms around each other's waists and bump their hips together as they sang it. Real sensual!

I thought his birthday was yesterday, but nobody posted it in the morning, and so I thought I was mistaken! I was off the computer last evening, so didn't see the post until this morning. I can't believe he is 63 years old!!! Where does the time go?
I guess if I had to choose only one song by him, it would be "Calendar Girl". There are soooo many good ones he has done in his long career!
Your music will always live on, Neil! Many happy returns! wicki92:)
