How do I create mailing labels?

by

Thanks to Terri for writing these instructions up!

MICROSOFT WORD

On the tools menu, point to letters and mailings and then click envelopes and labels.

Click the labels tab.

In the address box, enter the address you are mailing to.

Under print, click full page of the same label to print an entire page.

Click on Options and select the label type you have purchased. This will be the number on the package or the size closest to your labels if the item number is not listed.

Insert your sheet of labels into the printer following directions for your printer and click print.

Follow the above instructions for each address you need to enter, saving each set for later use.

MICROSOFT PUBLISHER

In Microsoft Publisher, you will select the label template and follow the onscreen instructions. Publisher is a bit hard to get used to, but wonderful after you get the hang of it. You have text and picture boxes to work with instead of just typing into a page.

In Publisher, open your “By Publication Type” box and click on labels. Choose the label you have purchased (by item number) or use one that is the same size if your item number is not listed.

Click anywhere inside the text frame when the label appears on your screen. Remove any writing that appears in that box. Type in the address you wish to use. Insert your labels into the printer, click print and that’s it. Repeat for any additional addresses.
