It sounds as if you have plenty of experience from a *womans's viewpoint* of predominantly MALE ORIENTED tasks associated with cars and buildings.
On HGTV *(The Home and Garden network)*, there are a multitude of shows catering to many different "niche" markets. Why not initiate a small inexpensive-to-operate web site, catering to women such as yourself???
There are a large variety of "Special Reports" you could author on small tasks which can be done around the house. *(ie. turning a normal pole switch for a light fixture to a dimmer switch for example)*
Also some easy things which can be done on an auto such as checking oil levels... What color is your transmission fluid and what it means... What to do if there is smoke coming out of your exhaust... etc...
I would have a tendency to believe there are many independent women who would love to have a basic idea - and working knowledge - of what might be wrong with their car before listening to a mechanic's recommendation.
Possible Newsletter's both paid and free could be offered. You may even find some corporate sponsors or advertisers interested in reaching this particular target market for additional advertising revenues.
If this is something you believe in, run a few tests. Place a few ads in some select ezines which your target market would read. Then base your decisions on what you would like to do off of the results.
