I wanted lights above the mirror in the main bathroom of this condo. Ran my line, connected the stuff and voila! It worked! Then I turned the lights out. You know, just to play with the switch and feel good.
The lights above the mirror stayed on. Drat!
I was gonna play around with the connections, but it occurred to me to diagram it and take it to the Home Depot to get specific advice.
Showed the guy my diagram, explained what had happened, and asked specifically what ought to be connected to what.
Well, when you're a girl, you gotta go through certain stuff. In this instance, he stood there with his mouth open, looking at me like I came from Mars. I mean, I wanted to sniff my underarms and check my slip, for crying out loud! Then he calls over a couple of other guys and shows them my diagram.
Now, since I've "been there, done that" I just stood looking as fetching as I could, and just as helpless, and waited.
Of course, they used my diagram to sketch what I should have done, and I went home and fixed it.
I'm gonna give this some thought. I DO get turned on by stuff like that. I guess I've discounted what I know because I didn't KNOW it ahead of time. I just go by the adage that Ignorance is NOT BLISS. Ignorance is EXPENSIVE! (Paid 25 bucks years ago to have somebody put a fuse in . . .)
