Your kind words and encouragement, and Gordon's gentle "kick in the butt" made me sit down and do some writing.
Know what? I've got two and a half stories done (rough form) and I'm having a ball! No one could have told me I'd ever be laughing over some of that stuff. I mean, falling in the attic insulation and itching all over was no fun at the time. And getting it off my skin was my mother's brainchild. All these years later and I'm just now wondering how in the world she knew what to do!
I recalled what a comedy of errors that particular day was, so I wrote it all down. And I enjoyed remembering it!
I don't know where this is all heading, but I'm doing it now. I give myself permission to have at least one hour everyday where I don't worry about anything, I don't project what 'might be' in the future, or lament what has been in the past. (Somebody once told me that if you've got one foot in the future, and one foot in the past, you're in perfect position to - uh, er, well lemme see how to put this - eliminate body waste [yeah, that's good!] all over today.) That's my hour - minimum - to write.
Anyway, thank you.
Marye
