Looking forward to drudge work

Response to Joe... Answer this question for me...

Mike ~

Excellent post! It's not so much, are there any opportunities, more so, which ones to pursue.

Something else you said struck a cord "If you are not extremely interested in what you are doing, it's complete drudgery!"

A couple of months ago, in a dilbert like office, I saw a photocopy of a photocopy stuck on one of the cube walls. It said,

"Remind me again, why I'm doing this?"

At first, I laughed. But after more thought I realized that simple sentence, which was meant as humor, was actually the key a lot of people needed to do things.

Just when you feel overwhelmed, like you want to give the boss an upper-cut, yank down on his tie real hard so it forms a tight knot he can't undo, and tell him where to stick the latest memo, remind yourself WHY you do the job you are doing - how doing that job will help you get what it is you are working towards (pay off home loan, provide more money for investment which will lead to being financially free, enable you to go on an overseas vacation, buy that new set of snow skis you've had your eye on, etc.).

You may find you even get a little enthusiastic about your drudgery job. If not, at least it will help you through the day.

Michael Ross.
