Har, har, har, har..... THUMP!
That's just me laughing my head off.
I was reading this thread with people wondering about your "forum bans" and remembered a time when I had my posts whipped off a couple of forums so fast that the moderators should have entered a quick draw McGraw contest.
Funny. Funny, funny, funny.
There was a thread running on a very popular forum. Not Tony's for whatever that's worth. He was one of the few with the cahones to leave my posts UP. Out of the few forums that had banned my posts for a while, only one of those forums even exists anymore. Anyway....
The thread was about affiliate programs.
So, me being me, I posted a post that said most affiliates wouldn't know how to sell their way out of a wet paper bag and the advice being doled out by the affiliate program owner wasn't helping them. I included documented statistics from Clicktrade and Amazon and a few others that indicated that more than 80% of affiliate made less than $200 month.
WOW. I never saw a post disappear so fast.
So I went back... and said fine... would anyone that makes more than $200 month selling affiliate programs please post two words. "I do".
Holey Moley... that one disappeared even faster.
I was choking with laughter by then. So I went to another forum and did the same thing. With the same result, of course.
See, in my books, being able to "sell" and being able to TEACH others to sell are not one and the same.
Now - you'd think a "marketer" with a half ounce of sense would want to know how to help their affiliates make more money.... wouldn't you?
Apparently not. Cause that was the third post - and it was the winner of the quick draw McGraw event.
Heh heh.
What a funny place forums can be. Yes, please - share your thoughts ... but not if they rattle the status quo or (worse yet) the owner's perceived pedestal. After all, we all know that perception is reality.
Memory lane can be a hoot sometimes. Thanks for the chuckle. Har, har, har, har..... THUMP!
