Response to WHERE did I ever say that I "blindly jump into projects"? |

You strike a chord with your comment. Not only on pricing but, on the general expectations of many who are online looking to create extra cash flow. Or even initiate a full time income.
I believe it is a two-edged sword which has cut out the higher priced items. A while back, there was a thread attempting to get "marketers" to increase prices since the bottom was falling out of the "info-biz". Ironically enough, he was going to create an eBook on the subject and give it away!
What this actually is, as you may already know, is the American Marketplace at work. More competition = better pricing, and higher quality products. This is expected. These are the Laws of Supply and Demand at work.
But could you possibly imagine the ramifications which would occur if we saw, or heard about, retail gasoline store owners publicly discussing raising prices??? Or what about the people whom are fuming about Microsoft and their attempts to control a marketplace??? Why is it any different if "marketers" publicly denounce competitive pricing, because it may hurt "their" bottom line???
Basically you have two camps... Those which purchase and are always searching for the "better deal". And those which sell who must continually meet the pricing, offers and bonuses of their competitors to stay afloat and sell a few more digital downloads.
Since there is very little overhead in creation or shipping of digital products, absolutley none in some cases, profit margins can be narrowed to non-existent.
Fledgling "Marketers" are first to accommodate this phenomena, and consumers have become accustomed to it. But only in certain areas and with certain products. Information products being one of them.
Look at the car industry... We do not see vehicle prices falling every month. Look in your grocery store... We do not see milk, coffee, and meat prices falling there either. But the very same people who purchase those products - purchase info-products too.
My take??? You, and many others are in the incorrect target market group. Which you certainly realize. There are a few who have no trouble dropping $300-$500 to "invest" into a business. For others the $300-$500 is out of their comfort range and therefore an obstacle.
The drop in "Marketing Info-Products being sold to those who want to become "Marketing Info-Product Producers" is a blue blood line. And just like the Royal families of history, the blood line has become very thin and defects are beginning to show.
But look at the DeckSeal.com, EliteCrete.com and other "opportunities"... these seminars and information can command, and do command, high price tags and a lot of travel to get to them! But the difference is... They are NOT marketing to those who desire to be a Marketing Guru. They are marketing to those who want to begin a business in wood restoration and concrete refinishing. A huge difference Don.
As I said, the forums are not a place where you will receive top dollar for your programs. Offline, and on industry specific forums is where I would take them. You'll make more money, and have less headaches as well.
Success and Regards... Mike
