Some freaking site hijacked my home page setting without asking, or obtaining, my permission to do so.
After running through a large number of web sites listed on a Google search results page, I hit the 'Home' button on my toolbar. I am swept away to some newsletter popup subscription index page instead of my preset Home Page.
It didn't take long to reset my 'Home' button but, THAT was BALLSY! Not that I care to backtrack where it came from (a different URL than I was visiting), but it must be some sort of a StartBlaze or NoMoreHits type of a thing.
Not too much rattles me in the way of marketing concepts and strategies but, this was certainly over the line in my book. And judging by the response form some of you to popups in general, I'd assume you would be infuriated by it!
