Hey Bob!
I got a kick out of that site! But there isn't any doubt, any marketing concept works once in awhile. Just like the old adages, even a broken clock is correct twice a day!
SPAM is still pouring through our ISP's in record numbers but, that doesn't make it right. Though it does tell me - SPAM is profitable - for some! Possibly the software sellers!
There isn't a man, or possibly even a woman alive, who would like to come home, flip on the TV, grab their remote control and find their Favorite TV Channels changed or removed from their Favorite Button!
Imagine hitting ESPN2 and finding yourself at HGTV!
SPAM I can live and deal with. It comes through proper channels, just as the tons of junk mail I receive every year through the Postal Service. Changing my Home Page, WITHIN MY HOME ON MY PC, is akin to breaking in and moving my furniture around or resetting the remote control for my television!
It feels more like a "violation" of my home. Possibly Donna could shed some light from the Constitutional side of things! (A 4th Amendment issue of some sort???)
Anyway... More power to them if it works for them. I as a consumer can still determine which methods I respond to and which methods I choose to stay away from. Thanks for the link. I'll delve into it further at another time.
Success and Regards... Mike
