Hi!
In a nutshell:
- Have people ship you two boxes (digression: this should be easy for people to do because of the proliferation of computers--I've got two on my desk, a partially built one on a table, my wife has a desktop and a laptop on her desk, and I have about 7 older computers in a closet LOL).
- You configure one box as a server and one as a firewall or whatever (once you automated your methodology it wouldn't be too time consuming on your part to dump GBs of data into HDs).
- You make the boxes into turnkey solutions for your customer; you could decide on the best way for her to connect to the net from where they live and get everything nicely configured and ready to go. Charge $400 or $450 or something, and maybe sell phone consultation in 15-minute blocks.
- Write $9.95 ebooks answering common questions like "How do I get 20 domains with individual IPs set up in my box?"
Is this idea crazy? Anyone reading this is invited to criticize or add to it.
I'll help you get customers free gratis and I bet your other friends from the forum scene would, too.
Just my .02 as usual...
Best,
- Boyd
