Here’s an idea that dovetails right along with Don’s Menu Binder idea.
I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now. A mini-menu, it’s a folded double business card sized menu. Each card represents a single restaurant. The front of the business card is basically their Logo or Photo of their location along with the address and phone number. Inside is their actual menu with prices and on the back has a map of the general vicinity, so out-of-towners can find their location.
Each mini-menu is placed on a business card rack that can display 50 different cards on the hotel or motels front desk. The hotels actually call me when you run out of a particular restaurant’s mini-menu, so I don’t have to check on them but every other month or so. Everyone loves them and some restaurants have a discount available if the guest brings in the mini-menu, so this helps restaurants understand and track their value.
I ask restaurants for $1,000 per year to distribute these mini-menus to hotels, motels, and local bed and breakfast inns. It’s something every hotel welcomes even the ones who have their own restaurants in-house. Tourist and business people like to eat different meals at different locations throughout the community. I currently have just over 75 restaurants located in 3 communities within a 20-mile radius.
So menu binders or mini-menus either way, there’s money in promotion.
