There is 'Fortune' in other peoples MisFortune!

There is certainly fortune in others misfortunes.

In keeping with the 'Idea Bank' growth being experienced over the past few days I offer this for those of you with digital cameras. I came across this idea a number of times over the years and recently saw it once again not too long ago.

For those of you who regularly drive around town, or even if you don't, carry your camera with you. I routinely carry mine and have caught 'newspaper worthy' photo opportunities on a number of occasions. By becoming a "Freelance Photographer" you can "sell" your photos to the newspapers, or even magazines.

Another avenue to travel down (forgive the pun!), is to take multiple pictures when you happen across an accident. Now don't be an accident monger or become macabre with it! Just take a number of close-ups on the damage to the vehicles, take numerous photos of the road conditions, access ramps, exit ramps, intersections, etc.

Have some 'Business Cards' made up from your inkjet printer handy, and then offer your "Services" to the drivers of BOTH vehicles!

You can also pick up an accident report from the responding police force headquarters to ascertain the insurance companies involved and contact their offices. Let them know you have photographic materials which may help their cause. Insurance companies will gladly pay a few hundred dollars or so if the photo's will save them thousands in paid out claims. Negotiate with them! They have attorney costs and other legal fees to consider as well. You save them money, you make some money.

Attorney's are another market for your pics as well. I have never photo'd a 'Fresh Accident' but have done many after the fact of intersections, etc. for active claims when I worked for Farm Bureau Insurance many years ago.

Success and Regards... Mike
