Relationship Building Is Right.......

Response to Sales are made with relationships.

Mike's post is absolutely correct!!!!!!

Here's an example:

I was in Kinko's making mini flyers when I met a nice fella who happened to be a real-estate agent. My wife and I were new to Columbia and were in the market for a new home. Now..... I have bought and sold houses as investment property in the past and understand I really don't need an agent. But... because this guy constantly called me for small talk, we built a relationship and with in a few weeks he sold us a beautiful home.

The real-estate agent referred a lawn manicurist who is also a nice guy. Now he's maintains my yard. We have a good relationship because I generally talk with him before he gets started on my grass. Because of that, I sold him 3 insurance policies. One for himself, his wife, and his mother for a total of about $6,000 in total commission. He also referred me to 4 other lawn manicurists who became my clients.

From this one relationship with the lawn guy, I have made over $10,000 this year. To put it plainly, people buy from who they know. With that mentioned, it's a good idea to practice "low key" marketing. You can do things like:

1. Call prospects or clients just to see how things are going. (Don't mention products)

2. You can send an article on something of interest (Don't mention products or selling)

3. You can invite them to lunch just for lunch... etc.

Do you get the picture? Through these "low key" methods, you'll allow your clients and propspects to get to know you better. And.... if they know you, they'll buy from you!

P.S. You can't get to know prospects and clients through e-mail. At some point you're going to have to do "face to face" or pick up the phone.
