Knowing What You Know and Knowing What It's Worth!

In today's newspaper there is a display ad approximately 3 columns wide and maybe 6 inches long.

A woman has paid for this ad and is promoting a 'QuickBooks' Seminar. Both a beginning seminar and an 'Advanced' seminar. Seminars start at 10am, break for lunch from 12-1, then go again from 2-4pm. Beginner's Seminar on Tuesday and the advanced Seminar on Wednesday.

Then there are a series of bulleted points. (Listing a number of benefits for attending her seminars)

The price??? $197 for each seminar. $300 to attend both. Bonus materials are to be handed out at each seminar. She will remain until ALL questions are answered. And there is Ongoing Personal Support after she leaves your area.

The Seminars are limited to 25 attendees each. Preference is given to those who reserve early and for those who are attending both seminars. (Takeaway and an Upsell???)

Let's see... 25 times $300 equals $7,500.00. That's if people attended BOTH seminars. If not, it is then 25 times $197 for $4,925 per day. Or possibly $9,850 total gross income for two days.

Let's take into account the expenses of the ads: Maybe $500.00 tops???

Room/Hall Rent: $250 per day tops??? (Less if you have attendees dine in the hotel restaurant)

Materials: Bonus materials are on disk format! Is there an actual expense over a few pennies each for the disks???

Ongoing support: (???) Most will likely never contact her again. If they do, it's a few minutes on the telephone.

Overall I believe you would be hardpressed to spend $1,000 in expenses. Those are very high numbers.

She states she has used QuickBooks for over eight years. For herself, and professionally in a competitive high-pressured office environment.

What do YOU know others might be willing to pay you to share??? Software??? MS Office??? MS Excel??? Buying/Selling cars??? Buying/Selling Chattel??? Garage Sale Profits??? Tupperware Party techniques??? Puppy Training??? Saltwater Aquarium Basics??? (Call me for THAT one!) Growing Veggies For the Gardeners Market??? Flea Markets???

How about if she VIDEOTAPED the seminar!?!?!? DOUBLE KA-CHING!!!

How about if any of YOU videotaped any of the above???

How about an eBay Seminar in your area???

Our local college charges a $40.00 fee for residents to come in for a two hour class on the basics of the eBay auction house! It can't be TOO in-depth! But they hold the class many times throughout the year. Very often weekly! Give you thoughts? Once or twice a month. 10 people times $40 is a $400 payday!

A few GR in your pocket for a few hours work would be nice wouldn't it?

No stickers for car windows. No cleaning oily driveways. No cans of chemicals to haul around.

Shoot how about slicing out a niche from eBay seller wannabe's. A seminar on how to increase your sales on eBay??? Building a client list??? Maintaining a mail list??? Where to get content for your newsletter??? Auction house services??? Trouble shooting eBay???

Bonuses could include wholesaler lists. Auction Management software. e-Books. Images and graphics. All could be downloaded onto a 3.5" disk and GIVEN out! Have them fill in a critique of teh seminar and pick up the disk on the way out the door! The list could go on and on.

Take an ONLINE venture and market it to OFFLINE people.

You're in - You're out.

Holy smokes! There's a "How-to" info-product right within this post. Take it and run. Write a report based off the content of this post as an outline. Wrap it up in a PDF file and go to town.

If you need to know more excellent details about eBay, pick up this reference material. You could make a HUGE profit by holding an eBay Seminar in your hometown just by reviewing the Chapter Titles in front of a group!

Success and Regards... Mike
