Hi Mike,
Last year I remember seeing posts by a gentleman who I thought had a remarkable insight to Internet Marketing. His posts were well thought out, clever, and extremely valuable. I signed up for his newsletter.
Two issues later and I was wondering...
Both issues had cut and paste articles from other authors and the only thing he was offering at that time was that Referralware program. I was greatly disappointed. I wrote him and told him so. He took offense and removed me from his list.
Was it greed? Maybe he was just lazy?
I know he had the knowledge and ability to write impressive articles. Why wasn't he? Why wasn't he selling some of his information in the form of whitepapers or reports? Perhaps it was a lack of respect for his readers intelligence and time.
Between your example and mine, these are both good examples of what
NOT to do. Let's look at what you
CAN do...
You can offer products and services created by others provided they fit into what you're doing now and that they are products and services you believe in that won't insult your subscribers intelligence.
For example, I resell Shelley Lowery's Web Design Mastery Course. I do this because I get countless requests to help people with their website problems. Other times someone will hire me to build a website for them and then ask where they can learn how to manage it themselves. This product "fits in" with what I already do and fills a gap. I don't have any intention to take the time to write a web design course myself. So I tell people to buy this one, and then if they need additional help they can post questions to a special forum I set up, or email me for support.
I spent considerable time reviewing the entire course. So I know what's in it, and what questions it answers. It is a well thought out course and well worth the asking price. To recommend this to someone who needs the help will not insult their intelligence. I don't offer this as a quick way to make some $$$. It provides a solution I am often asked for.
Using this as an example, it is my opinion that this is how you can a) make a little extra money and b) provide a solution for yourself, website visitors and subscribers.
Best Regards,
Steve MacLellan
