While I realize most people would research any idea further but this one seems so good and simple, I felt a little clarification was necessary. I could just see someone seeing it (that isn't vary savvy regarding business and regulations), saying "hey - my wife's a good cokk and we have a big screen TV - let's roll!" Then getting the health department "knocking on their door" or other agency. Especially when they see this phrase, "All you need is a House, A Big Screen TV, and a CD player."
I was afraid someone would read that post, think it was an easy way to make some extra money without much cash outlay, and not consider that they are regulations guiding such things - especially if food is being served.
Like I said it's a good idea. In fact, there's a local bed and breakfast place near where I live (in a beautiful, fully restored home in a historical district) that does something similiar (without the movie) once a month and on special holidays. Normally they only serve a breakfast but once and a while they will open the dining room in the evening (the even have an actual ballroom plus a rec room for those not wanting to dance). It's be reservation only and when you make your reservation, you are given a choice of meals (usually between 2-3 main dishes and then sides).
