It's Not the Business - It's the Business Owner Which determines Success

Response to Business Card Display Holder....

Kelle: Personally I haven't done any business card advertising but, the potential is there.

Advertising and more importantly - Advertising Sales - is the proverbial 'Billion Dollar Business'. Millionaires are made every year through advertising. But not just "advertising" itself... But CREATIVE advertising.

Business Card Advertising is just one aspect in which you can branch into many different areas. And when one "branches" into different areas one creates different streams of income.

A quick trip to a local Office Max store will reveal a multitude of business card and brochure holders. Many of which may be fastened to a decorative board for display.

Selling spots on the display board can bring in a nice income stream. These boards can also be parlayed into advertising boards with full sheet ads. A local community web site can be created to accompany the ads as a bonus or an upgrade/cross-sell product.

Banner ads may be sold on your local web site as well.

Don Alm once wrote about a project where business cards were attached to video rental boxes so anyone renting a video had to look at the card. Think a local pizza parlor would want their discount coupons attached to a video box?

Virtually any project which involves advertising can be a cash cow, if the person or persons running the operation can be creative with it. Just placing business cards here and there may not cut it with your target market. Have you sought out feedback from some of your downtown businesses? Have you made yourself available to the local Chamber of Commerce for possible speaking engagements at monthly luncheons? Most Chambers are glad to have a local business person speak on a topic which interests their membership. And increasing sales is a topic most business people want to hear - regardless of what they tell you!

The business you speak of is offered in many of the entrepreneurial business magazines. It works, It can work well. But the question to answer is, will it work well for you? Or more importantly, will you work for it?

A business friend of mine routinely sells 25-30 cars a month. Others starve to death. Why is that? Why does one work harder than the other to be successful?

If you like the idea of business card advertising, perhaps you would also like to incorporate Specialty Item Advertising along with that. Think 'Multiple Streams of Income'.

Kaiser Blair is one such program you can get started in for around $80.00. So you may market business card advertising and if an account isn't interested in that, you have a whole slew of items they might be interested in.

Success and Regards... Mike
