I'm not sure flyers are your best bet here, nor do I think churches will give you many referrals. There are limos at churches for weddings and funerals, so I would concentrate on targeting, as you said, funeral homes, and additionally, event and wedding planners.
The approach I would take would be to make a nice brochure all about your service, and then try to meet personally with the key people at these businesses. I think a brochure would work better than a flyer, because you can go in to greater detail about your service, and it looks much more professional than a flyer. During the meeting, tell them about your service, what makes it great, and how you offer referral fees to them for any business they refer to you.
However, it's been my experience that many companies really don't care about the referral fees you can give them. Instead, they care more about building relationships with reliable vendors whom they can recommend with confidence to their customers. By meeting with the key people in these businesses, leaving your brochure, and following up regularly, I think you stand a better chance.
