My first thought about the garage door silhouettes was that it was a good idea... but after thinking about it further, I wonder.
I guess that it would depend on the painting and the neighborhood that the house is in, but many neighborhoods try to keep a clean look to them and try to stay away from eye sores. If done in a very subtle way, it might work. If it isn't, the house could end up looking like the house with two or three cars parked out in the front yard on blocks.
If the house is out by itself on a large piece of land, then maybe it would work.
Those are my thoughts on the subject from the information that I saw.
