I did the same thing as Darren and bought the Iwata SmartJet. It's quiet, has an air pressure gauge, moisture trap, auto cut-off, a simple holder for the airbrush (I use a Tamiya HG 93F). The holder can also be mounted on the desktop instead of the compresssor itself. I have been using this for about a year now and am very happy (had an old passache for years).
In fact, I just finished blowing some olive drab on a Tamiya Sherman before getting online.
