I'm writing this with a heavy heart..I was at last night's concert at the Bowl and was lucky enough to get front row center. That was amazing. However, when Neil came onto the stage he really did seem a bit whoozy. I don't know if he was just tired or....? Anyway, I paid a lot of money to get that seat and worked for 6 months just to be able to afford it. Neil made a comment or two about "how did we score those seats, did you know someone? As if we were somehow special, and not part of the outer, hard working crowd up in the balcony. Actually, a bit nasty about it. He rarely smiled at us in the front row, did not shake our hands or really acknowledge us at all. I had been recovering from an illness for the better part of last year, and was always listening to his new album, which brought me great comfort and joy. I was so disappointed in his behavior last night that I cried. I had been so looking forward to his compassion and kindness as a person and a performer. Geez Neil, with all of your talk about the importance and sanctity of family and friends, I guess I had hoped for a little sweetness. franny b.
