Singer Neil Diamond Appears Headed for Dec. 3 Show at United Spirit Arena.
by William Kerns
AJ Entertainment Editor
Neil Diamond, a hugely successful American pop singer-songwriter with a fiercely loyal fan base, is expected to headline a concert Dec. 3 at United Spirit Arena.
Kent Meredith, general manager of the arena, would not confirm the concert when contacted late Thursday, stating only that it is "likely" but a contract has not been signed.
However, he confirmed reports that plans have been made for tickets to Diamond's show to be placed on sale at 10am Sept 28 at Select a Seat outlets .
Even base ticket prices for the concert are already known: 67.50 and 37.50.
Diamond will perform from a standard stage built at one end of the USA; he will not perform in the round, according to Select-A-Seat director John Walker
Walker said he will not be able to comment further on the concert "until an official press release is sent out closer to the on-sale date."
Pollstar.com carries Diamond's concert itinerary only through an Oct. 4 date in Canada. Thus it is likely Diamond will be starting a tour near or after the Thanksgiving holiday and the Lubbock concert could be one of the first on that tour. |

I hope he has more stops in the area announced soon. I am glad to have a target date for looking for the announcement! Thanks for the article.
380 miles from OKC. Mapquest estimates 6 hours, 27 minutes. If it was 4 hours, I would be very tempted to try to make alternate arrangements for my exam. I can't even make it by flying! | |
