Went to Neil's show in Worcester, MA last night, and was, again, extremely extremely impressed! This was the 5th time in my life I've seen Neil, and actually the 2nd on this tour (saw him in Boston last October)!

That said, I do have to say that the one disappointment I had was that the setlist wasn't significantly altered from what I saw a year ago. I had thought Neil might add some stuff, delete some other stuff, and change the order up, but other than the additions of "Hello Again", "The Boat That I Row", and "Play Me", everything was pretty much the same.

Even so, the show was spectacular again! It's good to see that in the year since I saw him last, Neil's voice is still top-notch, the band still sounds great, and he still has just as much energy!

As for the crowd, it was smaller than I expected... no seats were sold behind the stage, as they were in Boston last year. There was just a big black backdrop behind the band. I remember last year at Boston, Neil did a couple of songs to the folks behind the stage, including the 'Star Flight' chorus, so I guess not having anyone sit back there restricting the amount he could walk around. Also, it was a little rowdier than the crowd from Boston last year. For instance, during his intro to "Yes I Will/Lady Magdalene", he was talking to everyone about the piano and why it's a great instrument, but I couldn't catch all of it because idiots in other sections near me kept screaming out, "Shut up and sing!", which I thought was EXTREMELY rude.

Another thing that was neat was that Neil did much more bantering and talking/playing with the audience than I remember from last October. He really is very comfortable up on stage, and it shows in the way he conducts himself, essentially just making conversation with 10,000 of his closest friends.

I know most people here know the setlist by now, but I'll just post it anyway. Some people may just want to see it to refresh their memories of everything in it...

Remember that last October wasn't long after 9/11

I was at the Washington DC show at the end of September last year and found him subdued. It was a great show (actually the first Neil show I had seen - had tickets years ago and then hurt my back, couldn't go) but the 2 shows I have seen since were even better. More interaction with the audience too, generally more fun. Of course, the audiences were affected by 9/11 just as much as Neil.
