Need help switching from "service" business to "product" oriented

Hi, all!

I need some help and I think you are the people who can provide it.

Some of you know me and you know that I've built a fairly successful online business (not getting filthy rich, but dirty enough to be at it full-time for about a year and paying my share of living expenses since I quit my "real" job). My business has actually taken a growth spurt in the last few weeks, that's what has brought on this posting.

Because mine is a service business (writing and editorial services), although I'm making good money and business is good, I'm working my butt off. It takes all the time I have to stay even with the workload. There's little time for marketing and promotion, let alone updates to my website. My business coach wants me to build another website and, even though I think she's right, I can't find the time to do it. I KNOW that I have to switch to a product oriented business. But how?

I've tried affiliate programs but have only made money with two in all my time online and will continue to promote them on the side, but I need some THING to sell that ties into my website. A book (preferably my own). A writing course (preferably my own). A video tape series (preferably my own). An audiotape series (preferably my own)... you get the picture.

It makes sense that my product(s) be related to writing/editing because that's the theme of my website. It also makes sense that I produce my own product since that would obviously provide the greatest profit. And since I've been wanting to do that for a long time anyway, it would fit perfectly with my business, build my credibility, etc. so, again, it makes perfect sense.

Problem is... how do I find the time to do it??

At this point, I can't afford to contract work out... I'm at that "can't afford to hire someone, but MUST hire someone" stage of business. If I DON'T hire someone to help, I can't write a book, if I DO hire someone, I can't afford to live! It's a catch-22!

I know others have faced these same problems. That's why I'm crying out for help here!

HELP!!!

Maybe I need some time management pointers. Maybe I do need to contract some work out or -- Heaven forbid! -- even turn down some jobs. I don't *know* what I need, except that I need help.

Any ideas?
