I have many more stories that I'll share with you in the future.
Most of the stories, I've found in these two ways:
1) I've surfed a LOT on the Internet, searching for all kinds of websites on Direct Marketing, Internet Marketing, Information Marketing, Self-publishing, Publishing-on-demand, business-opportunities, money-making, Internet- and computer-technology etc.
Of course a lot of these website overlap each other. Consequently they have a lot of links to other interesting and helpful sites.
For instance, I think the first discussion board I did ever on the Internet, was Melvin Power's discussion board. I had read some of the books published by Melvin, and when I made a search on him on one of the search engines, I found his website - and his discussion board.
On Melvin Power's website and discussion board I found some references and posts by someone called Charles Prosper.
I also read about Charles Prosper's balloon-business. And honestly, I thought that was a rather weird business. "Who can earn money on balloons?" I thought then.
But as I read on and found other books and courses on the balloon business, too, I understood that Charles Prosper had found a very, very profitable business.
That's the way I found Charles Prosper's website.
2)The second way I find the different websites, is by using the search engines.
I simply make a search for whatever I'm interested in.
Usually I use Alta-Vista or DogPile. But I also use other search engines.
Besides, I've found the directory Yahoo to be very helpful.
Let me give you a little tip here! If you want to find a lot of helpful websites on a certain topic, you can use Yahoo to your profit. Just make a search for a website you already know on that topic. Then if you find that website on Yahoo, go to the top of the page with the search results. There you'll find a link to the category under which the website you've found, is listed. Click on that link and you'll find a lot of other websites on the same topic.
By the way, it was by using a search engine (I think it was Alta-Vista), that I found Mike McMillan's website.
I just made a search for "self-publishing course", and then I found Mike's site.
Of course there's other ways of finding websites, in addition to the two ways I describe above. For instance I've found a lot of interesting websites in newsletters, ezines, books, e-mails from friends on the web, etc. etc. And I use all of these ways too.
But if you use the two ways I mention above, you'll certainly be able to find a lot of helpful sites.
Regards,
Klaus
