I have found a few things in the world of goalie heads. The three premier brand (warrior, stx & brine) have two goalie heads. A dopey basic boring one and the exciting funky and expensive one. Dopeys range even in their own group, it's almost universally agreed on that the cheapest is also the worst (The Brine Zone) And the abyss and goalmaster compete a lot, being in the same general price and quality range. Overall though, I get the feel that the majority prefers the goalmaster. Then we get to the more expensive heads. First things first brine xtreme is worst and most expensive, don't buy it. second, debeer has a stick in this category called the web and I've never seen it in person. It's debeer's first goalie stick and I need to find out if it's any good or not. third the main competitors go for different things. Warrior's big nasty is big. It has plastic blocking side panels in supposedly the spot that most needs it. (Personally I wish the "wings" were higher on the sides, maybe even approaching another four inches) STX's eclipse has extra covering space as well, giving it a more circular shape (hence the name eclipse) but the extra covering space isn't the big deal, the weight due to the open sidewalls is. The sucker is the lightest goalie head. Supposedly it throws like an attack stick but of coarse that's a lie, but what goalie stick does? This is my overview on goalie heads, give me yours, disagree with me, I dunno, just make me feel as if I'm a member of this community... or not, whatever I sound like a pot head right now so I'll stop.

by the way, maybe we should start using this whole fivestar review system on each others' real comments (not the 10 word "yeah I think it's cool too" type statements) but you don't have to, whatever...

you seem to have used quite a bit of heads. Do you think you could do a review on them? It would help people see what a players oppinion is on products that
are and aren't worth the peoples money. One part i find very true is how you say the majority of lax players go for expensive items, because the more expensive somthing is the better. Thats a lie. I use a old MX on D somtimes, and edge. These a relatively old products, and have been around for quite some time. But big deal, they work. I have found the thing that makes the biggest difference in a stick is its pocket. The only real stick that this doesnt apply to is the shotgun or highwall, i've tried, but these just can't be good. The plus to them is they are one of the hardest heads to break. If you have time enough for a review, send it to me at webmaster@m2lacrosse.com , or im me at m2lacrosse or studley192. thanks for your oppinion

Yeah I dont play Goalie or anything, but I love Debeer so I am kind of curious to how it performs. I've tried my friends Eclipse (he doesnt play goalie either) and I thought it was pretty easy to throw with considering its massive size.

Still, it's not like the eclipse goalie head throws anything like an attack stick... Mostly cause of it's weight... if you channel it enough that's what really makes the difference on how a goalie stick preforms with throwing and catching, my eclipse doesn't throw like an attack and neither does any others' I know. But what about if I were to do a review, should it be of all goalie heads besides the web, which I have no clue about or just one or two... That's what I really want to know cause to my knowledge the web isn't that great and it looks way over-priced (but not as much as the sucky suck brine xtreme...) so tell me what to do ok?

Well its up to you how many you wanna do, and what on. Do them seperatly though, like one for the xtreme, then another for the web, etc. Be sure to give it an overall rating out of 10. If you look at some ofthe reviews i got up you'll see what i mean. Cover topics you feel strongly about, like what you get for the price. It may be a nice stick, but if it has a huge tag, then a lower rating might be appropriate. I know you mentioned how kids buy the high priced things now a days, and i thought that was a very valid point. Take your time, and just send them in whenever you feel like it.

the web is yet unknown by anyone i have ever met or read from. ive never seen one in life, and ive never heard of anyone who has. now i know that its not how a head looks but how it performs (like the x2, amazing, and ugly), but the debeer web is probably the ugliest piece of junk i have ever seen

Hi, I don't play goalie, but the goalies on my town teams all have the XTreme and they like it alot. It's offset, unlike any other goalie head and pretty stiff. However, the goalies and myself have found the Big Nasty to be a VERY BAD head. It folds in on itself when scooping and the wings are more cumbersome than helpful

In response to the first person that actually started this post.... I have an eclipse and an extreme, and much prefer the extreme over the eclipse. So dont say that its the worst, just because you dont like it.
