would using water to eliminate the dead space behind the spud be a good idea - would it be effective? i am talking about the space between the spud and the opening of the valve. filling that with enough water and then jamming the spud in there... the only problem i can think of is that the water would flow back into the valve and into the chamber, but i am sure this could somehow be avoided. just an idea. any feedback would be great.
