Keep streaks is one of THE ONLY ways a weaker team has a chance to gain ground on the powerhouses!
A strong team is not going to benifit much from going +2, as it's not going to make a 9/9/9 player that much better!
But a weak team, who is playing with a roster full of 7/7/7's can benifit ENORMOUSLY from some good streaks happening!
Slumps on the other hand WILL slow down a strong team's 9/9/9 players, but they will not affect as drastically a weaker team's 7/7/7 players, as they will have a FULL ROSTER of these type of players to choose from.
Everyone has the same chance to get streaks and slumps, and with the Hanstead/Easton Ammendment of NSHL6 (4 Shakes per Season), you can't really lose!
But the WEAKER TEAMS NEED these streaks to get excellent rerates, thus closing in on the POWERHOUSES in the league. OF COURSE, if the Lizards were a Powerhouse Team, I'd vote AGAINST Streaks/Slumps. and put my 9/9/9 players straight up against anyone's 7/7/7 players !!! And I'd REMAIN on top.
Finally, Streaks/Slumps allows for a CONSTANTLY CHANGING ice surface. Without them, we'll have GM's dropping off their top 20 players at the beginning of the season, and, barring injuries - the only factor that will affect performance LEFT, they'll check back in at season's end, and see how they did. WHERE'S the COACHING STRATAGY in that?
PLEASE, keep the current rules, for the sake of league activity & competition !!!
Thanks
