Some facts about multi-shifting

by Artur (no login)

I have ran HLS2 season 4 times with the best 3 players on one team (2 forwards and 1 d-man) double-shifted on 1st and 3rd lines
of 5/5 situations.

The end results were

W L T
64 19 6
61 19 9
70 16 3
68 13 8

Then, I ran the season 4 times with regular lines
to obtain the following results

W L T
64 22 3
69 16 4
63 18 8
71 14 4

As you can see, the results are ever so slightly
if at all better for the regular lines.

What about personal performances:

When double-shifted, all three players appeared in the League Scoring Leaders during every season. The best forward was always leading the league scoring.

When playing regular shifts, only 2 of the 3 players appeared in the League Scoring Leaders
every played season. The best forward was #1
in league scoring as well.

Again, the difference is not impressive. However, it is possible that with a manual team management
as oppose to the automatic lineup setup that I used, one can find more differences in the outcomes.
