AL ball vs. NL ball

Before the season started, I had never been involved in an HLS2 league before. I have enjoyed it enough to this point to have joined 2 other leagues. I have now played with the streaks and slumps, and think that I understand the pros and cons of the feature.
I believe that the feature adds a touch more realism to the game. The game isn't played in a bubble. Sometimes players are "seeing the puck better", or "just don't seem to have any spark", it's just part of being human. The history books are full of stories of lesser teams riding a hot streak to finish above their proper station, and favoured teams struggling unsuccessfully to meet their lofty expectations. This is the essense of the game! This is the reason they don't just look at the rosters and vote for who wins.
To close, I don't think that there is a right or a wrong way to run the league. I believe that it boils down to whether you are an American League-style manager or a National League-style manager. Many prefer to just write in their lineup at the beginning of the season and adjust for trades or injuries. Others enjoy the strategy and constant tinkering. For me personally, I love the streaks and slumps because it allows me to have more fun, and that is my bottom line for playing the game in the first place. But that doesn't mean that I won't enjoy participating in this league without the feature.
