One can follow the placings of the teams for the waiver draft and the bonus camps by following the salaries on Artur's Stats Paradise page.
It won't take a few seasons to see how things are going. Just look at the team quality totals when the trade deadline arrives.
As for losing a favoutite player, I agree that is moot. Every GM can protect 9 players. If number 10 is a favourite that GM has two choices.
1. Make him one of the 9.
2. Trade for him.
More importantly, I think Jimmy's raising the issue of the intention of the Waiver Draft. I think from at least the perspective of the SunDogs that it will not assist in making this weaker team the least bit stronger as we'll be picking after 20 other GMs and will receive ZERO bonus camps. Expect the SunDogs to start winning some games in NSHL9 or 10.
It works in theory, just not with the HLS2. (Where have I heard that before?)
