To post a message, or only part of a message, in the Penalty Box with a fixed width font (eg. Courier New) do the following:
Step 1: Choose "HTML (in Message Text only)" at the "Post in" radio buttons when typing your message.
Step 2: Type: <pre> before your message.
Step 3: Type: </pre> after your message.
Works every time.
If you want only part of the message to be in a fixed font, just put the "tags" around the desired section.
If you are wondering why I just didn't change the default font of the Penalty Box it is because Courier New sucks for regular messages. I know, because I tested it! Yech!
